India vs. Australia Live Score Updates, 2nd T20:
On Sunday, India won the second Twenty20 International by a margin of 44 runs, taking a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.
Australia, chasing a formidable 236 points, was limited to 191 for nine within the allotted 20 overs. Australia lost their top four for 58 runs in the powerplay after being struck twice by Ravi Bishnoi (3/32). Additionally, Glenn Maxwell (12) fell cheaply.
Marcus Stoinis then took the lead in the chase with a lightning knock. However, Mukesh Kumar (1/43) ended his 45-run innings to provide the breakthrough. Along with his return, Prasidh Krishna (3/41) claimed three wickets.
When they batted, India scored an incredible 235/4. With Ruturaj Gaikwad and Yashasvi Jaiswal, India was off to a flying start making 77 runs for the opening wicket in 5.5 overs. Jaiswal went for twenty-five off of just 25 balls, and then Ishan Kishan (52) and Gaikwad (58) put on an 87-run partnership for the second wicket.
In a flash, Rinku Singh scored an undefeated 31 off of nine balls. In Vizag, India had won the opening Twenty20 International by a margin of two wickets.
Nathan Ellis claimed three wickets for Australia, while Marcus Stoinis claimed one.
With captain Suryakumar Yadav leading from the front and Rinku Singh maintaining his temperamental stability, the Men in Blue checked off many boxes during their eight-wicket victory in Vizag on Friday, giving this second-string Indian side their maiden series victory. Notably, veteran players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have not been in the Indian T20 squad since the end of the 2022 T20 World Cup, and all-rounder and captain Hardik Pandya is out of the tournament due to an ankle injury he suffered during the league stage of the recently concluded World Cup.
With the exception of a few players, such as captain Pat Cummins and seasoned opener David Warner, the Australian team is the same one that won the World Cup. The Mathew Wade-led team would still take a lot of positives from the previous game, which included 208 runs in 20 overs with Josh Inglis and Steve Smith leading the innings. However, the Kangaroos would feel that their bowling would need to create more opportunities to beat this Indian team, even though they narrowly lost the first Twenty Twenty.
Standouts:
At Thiruvananthapuram, in the second Twenty20 International, Australian captain Matthew Wade chose to bowl first after winning the toss.
50 runs are scored by India in 3.5 overs (23 balls).
In 23 balls, the first wicket partnership of 50 runs is achieved (Y Jaiswal 36, RD Gaikwad 10, Ex 6).
Y Jaiswal scores 50 runs off of 24 balls to finish his second T20I with 9 4's and 2 6's.
WINCKET! Jaiswal is gone. On the fifth delivery of the sixth over, Zampa removes Jaiswal (53), the Indian batsman being caught at short third by Ellis.
India reaches 100 runs in 9.5 overs (59 balls).
India scores 150 runs with 86 balls in 14.1 overs.
Ishan Kishan reaches 50 off of 29 balls (four times, six times).
Continuing his onslaught, Marcus Stoinis removes Ishan Kishan (52) on the second delivery of the 16th over.
Ruturaj Gaikwad scores fifty runs in 39 balls (three fours and one six).
In the eighteenth over, Nathan Ellis gets SKY (19) OUT on the fourth delivery after Stoinis makes the catch.
India needs 18.3 overs (112 balls) to reach 200 runs.
In 20 overs, India scored 235/4 runs. Against Australia, this is India's highest T20I score. Australia now need to win in 20 overs with 236.
14.Australia was reduced to 39 for two as Josh Inglis, who scored a century in the opening game at Visakhapatnam, was removed by Ravi Bishnoi in the third over and Short in the fifth.
15. The Indian bowlers made a systematic effort, and soon after Smith was sent out by Prasidh and left-arm spinner Axar Patel devoured Glenn Maxwell, the score was 58 for four.
16. David and Stoinis, who hammered the Indian attack for 81 runs in an entertaining fifth wicket stand that took little over seven overs, gave Australia some fight.
As Australia reached 104 for 4 in the 10 overs and appeared poised for a comeback, David blasted bowler Mukesh Kumar for 19 runs in the tenth over.
However, Bishnoi got the vital wicket of David when he was hoisted to long on by Gaikwad.
As his attempt to heave off Mukesh ended with Axar close to the straight boundary, Stoinis did not stay long either.
India currently lead 2-0. There was a fair quantity of dew in the second half, which made bowling conditions unfavorable. However, Australian hitters lacked intelligence. The pursuit was hampered by their four wicket losses in the first eight overs. The fireworks were then set off by David and Stoinis. At one point, they scored 31 runs in five balls straight, but their wickets let the runs pour in. Both Arshdeep and Krishna executed the yorker flawlessly. However, Axar and Bishnoi's spin team was the one who set it up for the Indians. Three wickets were taken by Bishnoi. Axar was also the most economical bowler of the match despite taking just one wicket. That meant the pacers had some cushion to play with even though they went for a couple runs. Wade attempted to use his willow at the finish and scored 42 runs for himself, but that narrowed the losing margin. India currently has a sizable lead. And how important was Rinku Singh's cameo? When the dew arrived, his 31 off 9 balls appeared to have given the Indian bowlers a cushion. None of the top three Indian hitters reached fifty-eight, let alone fifty-eight. But as long as batters entered the game with good intentions, the runs kept coming in.
Rinku Singh: I try to maintain my composure and concentration because I've been playing at 5-6 for a while. I simply monitor the ball, play according to its merits, and play the game accordingly. Surya is incredibly talented, and this setup is entertaining us kids. I have been practicing his finishing techniques because my job is to bat for the final five overs. Using the same approach, I conduct my net sessions.
The ball kept getting really wet, so it must have been difficult for the bowlers but also a fantastic learning curve for the Indian bowlers. It is true that the pacers received some flak from hitters like David and Stoinis. However, they returned successfully to trim the tail.
In lieu of Matthew Wade, Australia's head coach Andre Borovec said, "Poor execution." We had a chance to score some runs in the first six or seven overs. was a narrow line to walk under these circumstances with the execution. only the way it was done. We're choosing wisely right now.
Suryakumar Yadav: I'm not feeling overly pressured by the boys. They are assuming responsibility. As I previously said, be ready to bat first. Dew covered a lot of ground. We later spoke to support it. I thought Rinku shown amazing poise when he came to bat in the last game. It made me think of someone, hehe. Everyone is aware of the solution (laughs again).
Jaiswal Yashasvi, Player of the match: For me, it was truly exceptional. I was attempting to execute every shot. Was attempting to show courage. I knew what I had done. VVS sir and Surya bhai have told me to go play freely. I've been requested to share my thoughts. For myself, I can only focus on what I believe I can grow. I have more learning to do. In the last match, I made a mistake and apologized to Ruturaj. Acknowledgment of my error. Rutu bhai is incredibly kind and modest. I made a lot of effort to get fit. I'm working to make every shot better. That is something I am working on, the mental stuff. I have faith in my training sessions.
India leads the series 2-0, but they cannot afford to sit back and relax. The next match is in two days. The games in this series come thick and fast. India will be focused on winning the series in Guwahati, but don't be surprised if the Aussies make a big return to try to spoil the fun. India may draw a lot of confidence from their two wins over Australia. It was amazing to observe the bravery and intensity with which they performed today. That's all from us; Anurag Hegde, Saurabh Shankar, and Av Venkatesh sign off on this. This is Kumar Abhisekh Das. Goodbye and be careful.
