Presenting a special halftime show, the 133rd annual Red Kettle Campaign of The Salvation Army gets underway today at 3:30 PM CST on CBS during the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game against the Washington Commanders. Dolly Parton is a global icon, singer/songwriter, actor, businesswoman, philanthropist, and New York Times best-selling author. 

While showcasing some of her greatest hits and teasing songs from her recently released album, Rockstar, Dolly Parton's nationally televised halftime act is sure to wow spectators throughout the nation. Known for its famed Red Kettle Campaign, which feeds millions of hungry people throughout the year, the performance is a Cowboys tradition that encourages millions of observers to donate. The Salvation Army has collaborated since 1997. And the Cowboys have helped raise more than $3 billion for the campaign.

Parton expressed her excitement, saying, "I am just so excited to be performing live at AT&T Stadium today to celebrate the launch of the Red Kettle Campaign." This holiday season, a great deal of people are in need of our assistance, and it is a pleasure for me to bring attention to all the amazing programs that The Salvation Army offers to assist our less fortunate neighbors. 

The most well-known and established fundraising initiative of its sort, the Red Kettle Campaign, is particularly required right now to address the rising needs of American families. Nearly 24 million Americans received services backed by funds earned in 2022. 

Charlotte Jones, executive vice president and chief brand officer for the Dallas Cowboys and a former national advisory board chairperson for The Salvation Army, said, "This is a day that has truly been a blessing year after year. At the Thanksgiving Day game halftime show, the Dallas Cowboys will present the 27th annual Red Kettle Kickoff, which will include a motivational and eagerly awaited performance by Dolly Parton. The Gene and Jerry Jones Family Foundation will also provide a ceremonial Red Kettle contribution at the ceremony.

The national commander of The Salvation Army issued a challenge to bell ringers nationwide on December 9th, asking them to raise $2 million in just four hours. For individuals who would like to contribute in person or digitally to support the goal, an interactive map featuring participating Red Kettle teams will be available at salarmy.us/RedKettleChallenge. 

Donations to the thousands of Red Kettles outside Walmart, Sam's Club, Kroger Family of Stores, Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's, Walgreens, Boscov's, Big Lots, Dillard's, Food Lion, Hobby Lobby/Mardel, JCPenney, Redner's Markets, and numerous local partners are still accepted throughout the season.

The greatest female country singer-songwriter of all time, Dolly Parton was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She has 26 songs that have reached #1 on the Billboard country charts, which is a record for a female singer. She has also received 27 RIAA-certified gold, platinum, and multi-platinum awards.
