As the first team to reach 314/3 in 20 overs, Nepal went on to score more than 300 runs during the game.
In just 34 balls, left- handed batsman Kushal Malla, 19, broke the former record for the fastest T20I century of Rohit Sharma. Malla batted in position three against Mongolia, who made the decision to field, smashing 12 sixes and eight fours to remain unbeaten at position three and lead Nepal to the highest-ever T20I score of 314 for 3.
Then, at No. 5, all-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee surpassed Yuvraj Singh's 16-year record by hitting a nine-ball fifty, shattering the previous record. During the inning, Yuvraj had also hit Stuart Broad for six consecutive sixes.
The social media exploded with praise for Dipendra's bravery. The hitter had to put in a tremendous amount of effort to accomplish what he did at the Asian Games, even though it was against the underdog Mongolia.
